Type IV fluid (Ethylene Glycol)
Type IV fluid is an ethylene glycol type 4 de-icing fluid. Type IV complies with SAE 1428 / ISO 11078 and is included in the lists of aerodynamic and de-icing fluids tested by Transport Canada (TC), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Anti-icing International Laboratory (AMIL) - designed to remove snow and ice deposits from aircraft surfaces and protect aircraft before takeoff for a long time.

Since Types I and IV share the same base - mono-ethylene glycol - it makes it possible to collect the waste liquid and send it for recycling instead of disposal. - More favorable price than Type 4 fluids based on propylene glycol.
